The centre was opened as a result of our humanitarian urge and in response to the growing number of displaced persons who flee their countries as a result of wars and ilegal immigrants and other people who are deported from various countries regularly.

As you are aware deportees and refugees are products of poor economic development and constant wars i developing countries. The influx of such people into different countries has no doubt become a problem to our country as well as to other nations.

The centre for counselling of deportees and Refugees (CCDR),Lagos , Nigeria is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-religious, organisation, which came into being by virtue of registration No. CA/IT/N022142 dated 28th october 2006. The organization has since been working with local and international agencies and individuals.
OVERALL GOAL

Our overall goal is to counsel, advice and to some extent resettle and reintegrate the deportee through contributing to the empowerment of the deportee based on the principle of social justice and respect for human rights.

MISSION STATEMENT

We are a non-profit , non-religious, non-governmental organisation delivering practical services to nigerian and other deportees from other country who find themselves within the Nigeria borders.
We aim to counsel and advice deportee and to see to the resettlement and re-integration of these Nigerian deportees into the Nigerian Society and to ensure that other deportees from other countries.

OBJECTIVES
-To cooperate with other NGOs of similar onjectives.

-To promote the dissemination of information through media publications about the ills  of indiscriminate travel and rush overseas.

-The Production and distribution, seminars, conference and colloquia on all matters relating to deportees and refugees.
